Martin Gordon

Project Safety Manager


A qualified artisan boilermaker from Dorbyl Ltd in Bellville South, RSA in 1975 and have had over 20 years’ experience working as a boilermaker in various fields, from general engineering and construction to mining and shipbuilding. Throughout this time Martin was actively involved in training and attained the position of foreman.

Following a further four years of study and receiving a National Diploma in Safety Management (NADSAM) at Technikon SA (UNISA) Martin has been involved in the field of Safety Management.

Martin’s is responsible for ensuring that the project maintain compliance with HSE legislation and Standards and advise line management on all matters relating to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental control. His duties include; interpreting and advising management on legal requirements as contained in relevant Legislation, providing hazard identification and risk assessment advice and facilitating risk workshops, Incident investigation using ICAM, inductions and ensuring site inspections occur as per schedule. Maintaining, recording and analysis of statistical data to help establish trends so that interventions can be applied where required.
